Hello!!
Its November and this month the theme for this month @ Happy Little stampers is " Alcohol inks ". Since we recently celebrated Diwali - the festival of lights here in India I decided to make a tea light holder. Its small and makes a wonderful gift for any occassion.
Choose a Frame die that you like and then die-cut 12 pieces of that frame from a black or metallic colour card stock. Glue two pieces together to make the frame sturdy as this is for the outside.
Next take a piece of vellum that is 4/12 times larger than the fame of your choice. Use Alcohol inks with inblending tool to create a texture on the vellum piece.
Now if the fames created earlier was black use metallic powders or pearl pigment powder to add a metallic finish.
Once done, Add the outer frame pieces on to the vellum leaving a gap of 1/8th " between each frame.
Adhere the pinside piece of the frame on the back side of the vellum such that everything layers perfectly.
Now fold the frames on to each other so that a square tube is formed. Cut away any excess vellum showing on the outside of the frame.
Now take a piece of cardstock to create a base for the tea light. Here i have used 6" x 3-1/4" piece
scored at 1/2", 2-3/4", 3-1/4", 5-1/2" on the 6"side and 1/2" from both ends on the short 3-1/4" side.
Fold and burnish all the score lines. Cut away the four corners, and slit the two small squares on the score lines
Fold all the tabs and create a closed box
This base needs to be the same size as the area inside the famed walls.
create and enjoy I hope you like this
