hello friends!!!
This month i am participating in a card challenge on http://paruscardmakingchallenges.blogspot.in/ . the challenge for this month was to use colouring +masking to make a card/ tag.
Now there is a whole bunch of techniques that include masking and i could not decide what to use. Recently i had seen a blog post by Jennifer McGuire (http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2016/02/watercolor-lifting.html) so i decided to use heat embossing for my masking and so this is what i came up with.
I dry embossed the white piece of cardstock measuring 3.75"x 5.25" on my die cutting machine using embossing folder. I used distress markers to colour the embossed area.
Once done, it was time to apply some versamark ink on embossed area and using wow clear embossing powder to mask off the coloured area then used scattered straw and tumbled glass distress in to colour the background.
NOTE: before heat embossing its a good idea to go over the whole card with your embossing buddy or powder tool.
TIP: If you do not have an embossing buddy or powder tool, you can make at home using cornstarch or if you are lazy like me, i used some baby powder buff.
Next step was optional, i decided to remove the clear embossing powder, but wanted to keep the dimension from the embossing folder so i went ahead and reheated the embossing powder and used wax paper or the butter paper to blot the melted embossing powder.
Finally I heat embossed a sentiment in black and added to the card. To finish i trimmerd the panel to 3.75"x5.25", layered a red piece of card stock behind the panel and then stuck it to a A2 size card in white. Also added a die cut, coloured and heat embossed
butterfly as embellishment
here is the final card, hope you like it.Thanks for visiting, please leave a comment it will be appreciated. Let me know if i should add the list of supplies too. Ciao!!!! see you soon!!
