Hello friends,
October is here it is a month of celebrations for all those who celebrate Halloween and here in India we celebrate Dutrga Puja, Dussera and the festival of lights will celebrated at the end of the month....
This card was basically inspired by the pic that I saw on the Shopping our stash blog!!! I simply fell in love with the colours and how they looked together. so here is what i came up with....
I did not think how difficult this card would be to make coz i did not plan ahead and found it difficult with no stamps at hand...well I did know how i wanted to create the background but beyond that it all came about with a bit of a struggle...
I started with Strips of white card stock and inked it with distress inks using the colours- scattered straw, wild honey, spiced marmalade and peacock feathers.
Next was to stick the strips on a another piece of CS. After this I dry embossed it with sizzix lattoce embossing folder...after this step came the confusion...as i did not have the stamps for autmn, fall or halloween so first i used a happy die cut using peek-a boo happy sentiment die, and for halloween i wrote it in notes and printed it out, then was time to fuzzy cut the Halloween and heat embossing it.
I used embossing powder on the edges of the main note card too... I adhered the sentiment on the card but figured that the Halloween was not cut out as neat as i would have liked; so i removed it and drew 3 pumpkins on a piece of cardstock, and coloured them using distress inks and wink-of Stella. Finally adhered them to the card panel with foam tapes...Also printed out Happy Halloween on another thick paper and this time used them as banners hanging from the top left of the card.
I thought i was done at this point however i realized that a small piece of the background had ripped so i decided to draw and hang a small spider coming down from the top of the panel and added some glossy accents to give it dimension.
So this was the card for today hope you liked it ....
