Hello friends,
Welcome to this months mixed media challenge on Happy Little Stampers. The theme for this month is Nature. This one word in itself has so much meaning that it can be interpreted in countess number of ways...so here is my take on this theme.
Started with a 8x10 canvas and coloured it with blue and white, for the sky, next i used a script stencil and some blue textur paste to add a little interest to the background, kept the texture paste towards the edges only as i needed space to stamp the sentiment in the centre.
Next added texture paste through a flourish stencil to create a base for the garden i wanted to build. I used Sizzix bird branch die by Tim Holtz to create a paper pieced tree. Next added vintage photo distress ink to colour the branches and trunk. Cut a few leaves from green card stock to add to the branches.
Stamped and fussy cut a few stems to add to the garden, also stamped a few directly on the canvas using a pigment ink. coloured the texture paste with green and yellow distress crayons; also added some colour over all.
Lastly I used flowers to decorate. Added some white splashes with gesso and stamped the sentiment.
